THE POSITION

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Manager of Human Resources is responsible for initiating, developing, implementing, and managing processes, programs and policies across all aspects of Human Resources, Labour Relations, and Occupational Health and Safety. Working in collaboration with the senior management team, the Manager of HR contributes to organisational planning, workforce development, and continuous improvement, while leading the creation of progressive HR policies, supporting change management, and upholding best practices in human resource management.

THE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or CPRH candidate.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional human resources experience in a unionised municipal or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., BC Labour Code, Employment Standards Act, BC Human Rights Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, WorkSafe BC Regulation and Workers Compensation Act).
  • Local government experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
THE PROCESS

The role offers an annual wage range of $111,946 - $123,140.
