JoiAt Chartered Tax, part of the Chartered Wealth Group, we believe that expert tax guidance should provide clients with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind. We are seeking a Tax Advisor to work closely with our Financial Planners and Chartered Legacy & Trust team, providing expert support on all tax-related matters. In this role, you will prepare and submit individual, trust, company, and estate tax returns, help clients navigate tax issues, optimise their tax position, and ensure compliance, while delivering integrated tax advice that aligns with each client's broader financial plan and long-term goals.
This is a role where technical tax expertise meets client engagement and accounting responsibilities. We're looking for someone organised, analytical, and proactive, with a strong understanding of SARS processes, tax legislation, accounting principles, and the tax implications of financial products. Being tech-savvy and comfortable with digital tools and software will give you a real advantage. Attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively will allow you to contribute meaningfully to the team and our clients' success.
What You'll Do- Deliver expert, integrated tax advice that complements clients' broader financial plans
- Guide clients through tax matters with professionalism, empathy, and precision
- Prepare, review, and submit individual, trust, company, and deceased estate tax returns via SARS eFiling
- Support estate and trust-related tax matters in partnership with the Chartered Legacy & Trust team
- Identify and recommend tax planning opportunities, ensuring optimal outcomes while maintaining compliance
- Manage client correspondence with SARS, including assessments, audit queries, objections, and supporting documentation
- Translate complex tax legislation into clear, practical guidance for clients
- Maintain meticulous client records and ensure accuracy in all tax-related work
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and apply knowledge to deliver the highest standard of service
- A client-focused professional who builds trust and long-term relationships
- Highly detailed, technically strong, and comfortable with all aspects of tax compliance and planning
- Confident in client-facing situations, able to communicate complex information clearly and empathetically
- Skilled in SARS processes, tax legislation, estate and trust tax, and accounting principles
- Organised, efficient, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Passionate about delivering a seamless, insightful, and confidence building client experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field
- Registered Tax Practitioner
- Membership in a recognised professional body an advantage
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance, planning, and advisory
- Experience preparing individual, trust, company, and estate tax returns
- Proven experience working with SARS and navigating tax legislation and compliance requirements
