Science and Outdoor Education Teacher (Potentially Head of Subject and/or Head of Hockey)

We are seeking a Science and Outdoor Education Teacher to lead and grow Science and Outdoor Education within the Intermediate Phase. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and adaptable educator who inspires curiosity, scientific thinking, and nurtures a genuine love for discovery.

Starting in January 2027, with on-site accommodation available for a candidate who is committed to contributing fully to the academic, co-curricular and pastoral life of Cordwalles.

• Demonstrates relevant experience in teaching Science
• Ability to lead and grow the Science and Outdoor Education programme within the school
• A strong understanding of the Science curriculum, with the ability to bring concepts to life through practical, hands on learning
• A passion for Outdoor Education and the ability to integrate outdoor to enhance learning
• Confidence in using a range of tools and approaches to support enquiry based learning
• Appropriate teaching qualifications that meet educational standards
• Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English
• Capability to develop and implement engaging, boy centred teaching strategies
• Willingness to contribute to the co curricular life of the school, particularly in Hockey, Cricket and Rugby
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators
• Awareness of and commitment to the school's values and pastoral approach
• Proof of registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) and a valid sexual offender clearance certificate
