This role requires a proactive individual who takes full accountability for the entire HR function, leads an HR Assistant, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior management on all people-related matters.

- Relevant qualification in HR, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of HR generalist experience
- At least 3 years in an HR Manager or senior HR role
- Demonstrated strength in employee relations, disciplinary processes, poor performance management, incapacity and grievances
- Solid experience preparing and reviewing disciplinary documentation, performance records, contracts and CCMA-related packs
- Hands on experience managing recruitment, onboarding, employee records, training administration and HR compliance
- Experience managing or supervising an HR Assistant or HR Administrator
- Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation including the LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act and POPIA
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience working with HR and payroll systems
- Experience in an SME or fast paced operational environment is advantageous
- Exposure to BBBEE, WSP and ATR submissions, employment equity and HR audit documentation is advantageous
- Take full ownership and accountability for the entire HR function, ensuring it operates in a structured, compliant and business focused manner
- Lead and oversee the HR Assistant to ensure HR administration, documentation and coordination are completed accurately and on time
- Partner with senior management to provide practical, legally sound and commercially sensible HR guidance on workforce planning, performance, retention and culture
- Manage all employee relations matters end to end, including disciplinary processes, poor performance, grievances, investigations and retrenchments where required
- Prepare, review and control all employee relations documentation including notices, hearing packs, outcome letters and employee correspondence
- Own and manage the full recruitment lifecycle from defining role requirements through to offer management, with support from the HR Assistant
- Manage all onboarding, induction, probation tracking and employee lifecycle processes in a structured and compliant manner
- Oversee and maintain SharePoint as the single source of truth for all HR records and employee documentation
- Manage the performance management framework including performance contracts, KPIs, quarterly reviews and performance improvement plans
- Own the company training plan, skills development process, and all supporting documentation required for WSP, ATR and BBBEE audit purposes
- Manage employment equity compliance, EEA2 and EEA4 submissions, and EE committee processes
- Oversee employee benefits administration and prepare accurate monthly payroll input information for submission
- Review, maintain and improve HR policies, procedures and templates in line with legislative and operational requirements
- Proactively identify HR risks, gaps and trends, and recommend practical solutions before issues rise
- Develop and support retention, engagement, recognition and culture initiatives that keep the right people committed to the business
