Red Ember is seeking a Temporary ER Administrator (1-Month Contract) on behalf of our client, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
This is a one-month temporary assignment requiring an experienced Employee Relations (ER) Administrator to provide structured administrative and compliance support within the HR/ER function. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee relations records, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, and supporting disciplinary, grievance, and external dispute processes. This role is administrative in nature but requires solid ER exposure and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update grievance records, including all four stages of the grievance process and group grievances.
- Administer and track disciplinary records, including Verbal, Written, and Final Written Warnings.
- Compile and maintain disciplinary enquiry documentation, including warnings, suspensions, and dismissals.
- Prepare and manage documentation relating to CCMA and Bargaining Council matters.
- Compile case reports for in limine hearings, conciliations, and arbitrations.
- Ensure all ER documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and labour legislation.
- Track case timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Liaise with HR, line managers, and external stakeholders where required.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR/Employee Relations department.
- Assist in preparing ER reports and summaries for management review.
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum 1-year post-matric qualification (HR, Labour Relations, or Administration).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an HR/Employee Relations administrative role.
- Exposure to Sage 300 (HR module advantageous).
- Strong understanding of grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Experience dealing with CCMA and/or Bargaining Council documentation and processes.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Available immediately for a one-month temporary contract.
