Consumer Studies Teacher / Head of Consumer Studies Department - Senior School
Job Description
- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience teaching Senior School Consumer Studies (Grades 10 to 12) in a similar school environment to St John's D.S.G., preferably with IEB experience and conversant in IEB SAGS and CAPS, as well as the ability to conduct and assess Practical Assessment Tasks.
- Have leadership experience as a Head of the Consumer Studies Department (preferable).
- Have a Bachelor of Education, or a similar 4-year Senior / FET qualification in Consumer Studies, with PGCE.
- Have an excellent command of English (both written and verbal), with the ability to teach, assess, and communicate effectively in an English-medium environment.
- Be warm, engaging, resilient, honest, genuine, empathetic and kind.
- Have excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
- Have strong values that align to the Christian ethos of the school.
- Have a high level of computer competency and be willing to learn new systems.
- Have a clear criminal clearance certificate.
- Be SACE registered.
