Job Description
Student worker needed to tutor various subjects in person or virtually as determined by the strengths of the applicant and needs of the Academic Support Center staff.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program.
This is a part time opportunity. Students may work up to 15 hours per week, depending on their unmet need on their FAFSA.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Federal Work Study is federally funded need based aid to assist students with the cost of attending college. This listing is intended for students that will attend Surry Community College during the academic year and have need determined by the federal government. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Use of Microsoft Teams to provide help virtually to students in need.
- Work with multiple supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Communicate with students and support staff through various means and use Microsoft Office for paperwork.
- Computer skills.
- Accurate record keeping skills.
- Punctuality.
- Dependability.
- Interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to help students in various subjects depending on academic strengths.
- Ability to initiate conversation with students seeking help and work with them positively and friendly.
- Knowledge of subject areas.
- Ability to travel to main campus and/or Yadkin Campus.
- Willingness to work in a virtual environment.
- Willingness to follow Knights Care Guidelines.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
BenefitsPay Rate: $14.25 per hour.
