Introduction

We are looking to recruit a permanent Training and Development Manager to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Roodepoort (Lea Glen) branch and will report to the HR Executive.

Job Purpose

To plan, direct and co-ordinate learning and development activities in order to meet current and future organizational needs in line with the business units operating plan, the group learning and development framework, national skills development and the transformation agenda.

Key Performance Areas
  • To conduct a divisional training needs analysis in line with the business needs and individual development plans.
  • To develop an annual learning and development plan that delivers an improved talent pipeline focused on the business priority areas in line with the organisational strategy.
  • To implement the annual learning and development plan in line with the approved calendar, budget and transformation targets.
  • To monitor and ensure legislative compliance and maintain appropriate standards of internal training delivery aligned to internal audit requirements.
  • To implement and monitor all development programmes and measure performance standards and competencies for further improvement.
  • To ensure completion and submission of the WSP (Work Place Skills Plan) and ATR (Annual Training Report) in compliance with SETA requirements in order to optimize skills rebates and discretionary grants.
  • To provide learning and development advice and support to line managers and employees.
  • To manage the learning and development budget in accordance with finance guidelines.
  • To manage resources in order to achieve the objectives of the learning and development team.
  • To manage the implementation of the talent, succession planning, business training plans and appraisal process.

    • At least 3 years experience as a manager/supervisor.
