Why we need youAs a Tax Compliance Manager you will lead the delivery of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that the company meets all statutory obligations. You will manage a small team, prepare or review tax returns, handle audits, and keep policies up to date with changing legislation.
Responsibilities- Tax Compliance Management - Supervise a team of four and a second Tax Compliance Manager; prepare and review corporate tax returns and indirect tax filings (VAT/GST) across jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Audit and Review - Act as the primary contact for external auditors and tax authorities, prepare documentation, gather data, and respond to inquiries to support the company's position.
- Risk Management - Continuously assess and mitigate tax related risks, reviewing processes and policies to align with corporate compliance standards.
- Tax Reporting - Work closely with accounting to ensure that tax figures are accurately represented in financial reports, including deferred taxes and provisions, in accordance with IFRS or GAAP.
- Policy Development - Develop and maintain tax policies and compliance manuals, ensuring all departments have clear guidance.
- Cross Functional Collaboration - Partner with finance, legal, and operations to incorporate tax implications into major business decisions such as mergers and expansions.
- Advisory Support - Provide strategic tax guidance to the Head of Tax on complex initiatives, conducting research and anticipating regulatory shifts.
- Continuous Improvement - Monitor legislation changes, assess impact on the business, and implement necessary updates to maintain compliance.

- 5+ years of experience in a similar role with leadership duties.
- 5+ years of taxation experience and working knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience with SOX (advantageous).
- International tax experience in complex, growth organisations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Professional qualifications: CA (SA), CIMA, SAICA, or equivalent; Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Tax).
- Experience with Navision, Thompson Reuters Orbitax, and Once Source Provisioning Tool.
