The Opportunity

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join a Civil, Structural and Architectural (CS&A) design team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, assessment, and delivery of structural engineering solutions within a multidisciplinary environment. The position involves close collaboration with both design and construction stakeholders and may include site-based activities.

The Role

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering design and technical support across a range of structural projects. The role requires a proactive individual capable of working both independently and as part of a wider team, ensuring designs meet applicable standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver structural engineering designs in accordance with relevant standards and best practices
  • Produce and check structural calculations, including those supporting service and equipment structures
  • Interpret and create engineering drawings and design documentation
  • Review and verify specialist and third-party calculations
  • Provide technical support and respond to structural engineering queries during design and construction phases
  • Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including design and construction personnel
  • Attend meetings and undertake site visits as required
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering)
  • Chartered Engineer status (preferred but not essential)
  • Proven experience in the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes)
  • Experience in reviewing and checking engineering calculations
  • Competence in producing and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Ability to develop calculations to support structural designs
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to respond to technical queries effectively
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and site visits
