Sports Development Officer X2

Location: Cape Peninsula University of Technology - Student Affairs - Sports Development, Campus (Cape Town, South Africa).

Job Type: Permanent. Number of Positions: 2.

• Plan campus & institutional sport and recreation programs for students & staff.
• Coordinate affiliation process to district, provincial and national sport federations and USSA.
• Arrange sport tours and events taking place on and off campus.
• Promote sports participation among students and staff.
• Initiate and coordinate sports workshops for various sports codes.
• Arrange planning meetings with various structures in preparation for local, national and international competitions.

• A 3 year Degree or B Tech in Sports Management or Sport Science or Human Movement Studies
• A minimum of five (5) years sport and recreation experience
• Driver's License

• Computer certificate

• Planning and delivery of single and multi-coded sport and recreation events.
• Administration and management of minor and major sport and recreation events.
• Formation of structures, database management and support to established clubs as well as coordinate affiliation process to district, provincial and national sport structures.
• Planning, fundraising, sponsorship and budget control.
• Understanding of university & mainstream sport and also liaising with internal & external stakeholders.
• Promote mass participation and high performance programmes among students and staff.
• Implement university policies and procedures during the implementation of sports activities.
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Planning, budgeting, organizing, monitoring and reporting skills.
• Good team working and leadership skills.
