Somerset College is a leading independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering schooling from Grade 000 to Matric-IEB and Cambridge AS and A-levels. Founded in 1997, Somerset College is a welcoming, stimulating centre of learning situated in the beautiful Cape Winelands.

Somerset College is seeking motivated Independent Sports Coaches who prioritise interpersonal relationships and holistic student development in the water polo programme.
Coaches will be expected to:
- Be present and punctual for allocated coaching practices, matches, or tournaments, as well as on school transport to and from such events.
- Adhere to Somerset College policies.
- Deliver coaching programmes aligned with the sport's philosophy and Somerset College's values.
- Assist with relevant Safety, Health and Environmental matters.
- Be administratively competent in:
- Maintaining a database for practice attendance, match or event attendance, injury records and compliance documentation.
- Submitting teamlists punctually.
- Communicating with players and/or parents.
- Assist with student management, discipline, and match day coordination.
- Assist with stock management (maintaining Somerset College sports equipment throughout the season).
- Assist with pastoral care where necessary.
- Serve as a point of contact should any parent or teacher require guidance or assistance in the sport coaching.
- Regular operational reporting to the Head of Department and/or Director of Sport detailing logistical outcomes and potential issues related to sports coaching.
Services are to be rendered in accordance with the College's training programme, typically conducted on weekdays between 09:00 - 18:00 with additional commitments on Fridays and Saturdays as necessitated by matches.
