Job Description

Key Responsibility Areas:
  • Assess the adequacy of procedures, systems and controls associated with servicing (vehicles, plant, equipment and material).
  • Conduct inspections of workshop plant, tools and machinery, and compiling annual repair and maintenance programme, cost schedules, reports.
  • Participate in operational discussions/ meetings and elaborating/ presenting factual information to support the status of activities, progress, constraints, quality and cost dimensions associated with current servicing programmes or urgent works.
  • Communicate with the workshops and establishing material and resources necessary against specific works orders.
  • Check the status of vehicles, machinery, equipment/plant and communicating any deviations to the Manager/Workshop Superintendents.
  • Monitor all subcontracted work including work carried out by Panel shop and Hydraulic workshop.
  • Responsible for resource planning, servicing, repairs and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Compile internal transactional documentation (e.g. progress and productivity report).

Essential Requirements:
  • Trade Tested Artisan in any one of the following • Diesel • Petrol • Construction Plant Mechanic or • Auto Electrician.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • 4 years relevant post trade test experience.
  • Computer Literacy.
Special Conditions:
  • Good interpersonal, communication skills and automotive fault diagnostic abilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • The physical attributes required for the performance of tasks associated with specific key performance areas in this post necessitates that the incumbent be physically fit and able bodied.
