Main Job Function 
A prestigious, established law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Conveyancing Secretary with specialized expertise in Sectional Title schemes, developments, and unit transfers to join their Real Estate team. The successful candidate will manage complex conveyancing files from inception to registration independently, providing top-tier service to clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Duties- Sectional Title Specialization: Manage full-cycle sectional title transfers, Open a sectional title transfer including scheme extensions, cession of exclusive use areas, and developer sales.
- File Management: Handle residential and sectional title transfers independently from instruction through to lodgement and registration, including all preparatory documentation.
- Documentation: Draft and prepare complex conveyancing documents, including sale agreements, transfer documents, and Power of Attorneys, ensuring high accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure FICA compliance and liaise with SARS (e-filing) and local municipalities to obtain clearance certificates.
- Liaison: Act as the primary contact for buyers, sellers, developers, estate agents, and banks to coordinate smooth transfer processes.
- Reporting: Proactively manage deadlines and provide regular progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Systems: Utilize conveyancing software such as Lexis Convey.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Conveyancing Secretary, with strong, proven expertise specifically in Sectional Title schemes.
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) required; Legal Secretarial Diploma or Paralegal qualification is advantageous.
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work under high-pressure environments to meet tight deadlines.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Lexis Convey, and Deeds Office operations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Autonomous: Able to handle a high-volume workload with little to no supervision.
- Proactive: Problem-solving ability when dealing with complex or stalled transfers.
- Professional: High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
