ROLE OVERVIEWThe Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a key role in generating interest and driving revenue across media channels. This role involves direct outreach, lead nurturing, and closing opportunities through Zoom calls and strategic email campaigns. You'll represent a trusted platform at the intersection of science and storytelling, offering brands tailored exposure through print and digital content.
The SDR must be well versed in the platform's offerings and capable of explaining how these solutions can elevate credibility, boost SEO, and deliver real visibility to health forward audiences.
You'll be responsible for pitching the flagship magazine product, as well as recommending alternative placements such as peer reviewed articles or digital feature bundles. This role requires a deep understanding of the platform's mission and offerings, the ability to identify high potential leads, and a consistent drive to meet outreach and conversion goals.
The SDR must also be able to track key sales metrics, interpret performance data, and provide regular reports and insights to management to support strategic decision making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Present advertising and editorial feature opportunities to prospective clients
- Host Zoom calls with potential advertisers to explain offerings and answer questions
- Recommend the alternative Peer Review Spotlight feature when appropriate
- Suggest relevant digital add ons, including homepage placements, podcast tie ins, and SEO enhanced article features
- Conduct email outreach using approved templates and messaging guidelines
- Generate new leads through inbound inquiry follow ups and outbound prospecting
- Nurture leads through all stages of the sales cycle with regular follow ups
- Maintain detailed records of all contacts, calls, and activities in the CRM
- Stay up to date with current editorial themes, campaign deadlines, and audience engagement metrics to tailor pitches
- At least 1 year of experience in sales, lead generation, or customer facing roles
- Experience conducting compelling Zoom or in person sales presentations
- Strong verbal and written English; a neutral accent is preferred
- Familiarity with CRM systems like HubSpot or Salesforce
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet)
- Clear understanding of email outreach best practices
- Highly organized, self motivated, and results driven
- Bonus if you have:
- Media, publishing, or ad sales experience
- Exposure to the wellness, lifestyle, or biohacking space
- Background in email campaign platforms (e.g., Instantly, Apollo, Mailshake)
- Must be proficient in High Level
- CRM Tools: GOHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce
- Communication & Collaboration: Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet)
- Email Outreach: Apollo, Instantly, or similar platforms - if applicable
- Working knowledge of AI tools
- Employment Type: Full Time, Hourly
- Work Hours: 9:00 AM EST - 6:00 PM EST

- Compensation: $1,000 base salary + commissions (10% on deal closed)
