Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ramp Agent for Cargo and Luggage Handling operations in Durban. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient handling of aircraft cargo and passenger baggage. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading aircraft, maintaining safety standards, and supporting smooth ground operations in a fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload cargo, baggage, and mail from aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport luggage and cargo between terminals and aircraft using ground support equipment.
  • Ensure proper sorting and tagging of baggage according to destination.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety.
  • Follow all aviation safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Assist in aircraft marshaling and positioning as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure timely departures.
  • Handle fragile and special cargo with care and according to guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic understanding of airport ground operations is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid drivers license (preferred).
Experience
  • Prior experience in airport operations, cargo handling, or logistics is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Entry-level candidates with a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Working Hours
  • Flexible shift-based schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Overtime may be required depending on flight schedules and operational needs.
