Operations Manager
Job Description
Are you an experienced property operations professional with strong facilities management, maintenance coordination, and tenant relationship experience?
A well-established property business is looking to appoint a hands on and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a busy property environment in Cape Town.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast paced operational environments, enjoys problem solving, and has a strong understanding of property maintenance, contractor management, compliance, and tenant service delivery.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure maintenance and operational standards are met
- Oversee preventative maintenance for HVAC systems, generators, fire systems, lighting, pumps, and related infrastructure
- Coordinate servicing and repairs for property equipment and facilities
- Monitor generator performance, diesel usage, and utility-related processes
- Assist with tenant move ins, move outs, and fit out coordination
- Manage contractors and third party service providers including cleaning, security, pest control, landscaping, and access control
- Respond to tenant queries, complaints, and operational requests professionally and efficiently
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and operational documentation
- Assist with health & safety compliance and ensure adherence to OHS standards and building regulations
- Support emergency response and crisis management processes when required
- Assist with maintenance budgeting and operational cost control
- Perform general operational and ad hoc property management duties as required
- Minimum 3 years' experience within property operations, facilities, or building management
- Strong understanding of property maintenance, infrastructure, and preventative maintenance processes
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety standards and property regulations
- Excellent contractor, vendor, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong problem solving and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands on, proactive, and solutions driven approach
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively under pressure
- Strong administrative and reporting skills
- Property or facilities related qualification advantageous
