ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you an experienced property operations professional with strong facilities management, maintenance coordination, and tenant relationship experience?

A well-established property business is looking to appoint a hands on and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a busy property environment in Cape Town.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast paced operational environments, enjoys problem solving, and has a strong understanding of property maintenance, contractor management, compliance, and tenant service delivery.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure maintenance and operational standards are met
  • Oversee preventative maintenance for HVAC systems, generators, fire systems, lighting, pumps, and related infrastructure
  • Coordinate servicing and repairs for property equipment and facilities
  • Monitor generator performance, diesel usage, and utility-related processes
  • Assist with tenant move ins, move outs, and fit out coordination
  • Manage contractors and third party service providers including cleaning, security, pest control, landscaping, and access control
  • Respond to tenant queries, complaints, and operational requests professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and operational documentation
  • Assist with health & safety compliance and ensure adherence to OHS standards and building regulations
  • Support emergency response and crisis management processes when required
  • Assist with maintenance budgeting and operational cost control
  • Perform general operational and ad hoc property management duties as required
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within property operations, facilities, or building management
  • Strong understanding of property maintenance, infrastructure, and preventative maintenance processes
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety standards and property regulations
  • Excellent contractor, vendor, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem solving and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Hands on, proactive, and solutions driven approach
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively under pressure
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills
  • Property or facilities related qualification advantageous
