Receptionist (PRN)
Location: Community Medical Center (CMC)
Department: Front Desk / Administration
Schedule: PRN (As Needed)
Reports To: Office Manager / Practice Manager
Position Summary:The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Community Medical Center. This role is responsible for greeting, directing, and assisting patients while supporting daily front desk operations. The Receptionist ensures a welcoming and professional environment while maintaining accurate patient information and effective communication with clinical staff.
Responsibilities:- Greet, instruct, and direct patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and assist with patient check-in and check-out
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and provide information as appropriate
- Verify and update patient information in the medical record
- Serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Attend staff meetings and training as required
- Assist with additional clerical and administrative duties as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate office equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor
- Knowledge of basic grammar, spelling, and data entry
- Ability to operate computers, phones, and office equipment efficiently
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships
Work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment involving patient care settings
Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing, with occasional bending and stooping
Frequent interaction with patients, visitors, and staff
