Job Description

Main Purpose

To ensure that all electrical and related equipment are fully functional according to Manufacturer's specifications and maintenance procedures, including SANS specified standards. Issue certificates of compliance on permanent, construction and specialized electrical site installations.

Key Performance Areas
  • Fault finding, repair and maintain invertor and process welding machines.
  • Fault finding, repair and maintain various workshop machinery, generators, compressors, and associated equipment.
  • Manufacture various types of electrical equipment.
  • Maintain and repair portable electrical power tools and appliances.
  • Maintain, manufacture and certify construction distribution boards.
  • Electrical installations in containers, buildings and construction sites.
  • Certification of permanent/temporary and specialised electrical installations.
  • Any other tasks that may be required from time to time that is reasonable and within capacity.

  • Ability to keep to timelines and be punctual.

  • Good planning and organising skills.

Preferred Requirements
  • Qualified Artisan (Red seal trade tested Electrician).
  • National certificate in Electrical Engineering: NQF Level 5 or equivalent technical qualification required.
  • Registered as a Master Installation Electrician (MIE) with Department of Labour.
  • 5 Years' relevant working experience.
  • Valid driver's license (code B - 08).
