Job Description

We are seeking a Litigation Secretary for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 with good typing skills (Dictaphone) and MS Office ability
  • 2 years' experience in a legal firm in a similar role - exposure to magistrates court, regional court and high court ideal
  • Able to work under pressure with accuracy and accountability
  • Strong attention to detail and organised with good communication skills
  • Ghostpractice experience ideal, but can be trained

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Dictaphone typing
  • Managing Attorney diary and making appointments
  • Taking phone calls and messages
  • Dealing with clients
  • Following up on outstanding accounts
  • Preparing court documents and letters
  • Preparing Bills of Costs and Statements of Account (Legal billing)

Salary: Market related
