Our client in the FMCG / retail industry is seeking a highly accurate and systems-minded Inventory & Systems Control Officer to join their team in Grabouw. This pivotal role supports back-of-house stock control and ensures system accuracy across diverse hospitality and retail operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, a structured approach to inventory management, and the ability to maintain seamless systems that drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Inventory & Stock Control
    • Perform daily monitoring of back-of-house stock movements, usage, and variances.
    • Capture and verify stock transactions accurately and on time in live systems.
    • Conduct regular stock counts, spot checks, and reconciliations.
    • Identify discrepancies and elevate issues according to protocol.
    • Assist in enforcing stock control procedures and corrective actions.
  • Systems Administration & Monitoring
    • Operate and monitor ERP and POS systems, including:
      • Cin7 Core; Yoco Table; POS platforms; and exposure to SAP / JD Edwards
    • Support correct usage of the newly implemented system (live 6 months).
    • Perform routine system checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
    • Identify system errors, bugs, or incorrect usage and report these promptly.
    • Log system issues and assist with follow-ups with management or service providers.
  • Process, Protocol & Compliance
    • Follow and support established inventory and systems protocols.
    • Monitor for early warning signs of process or system failures.
    • Assist with root cause checks when discrepancies occur.
    • Maintain accurate records, checklists, and system logs.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.
  • Training & Operational Support
    • Support staff with correct system usage and stock procedures.
    • Assist with refresher training and practical guidance on timing and accuracy.
    • Help onboard new staff with inventory and system basics.
    • Participate in accuracy testing and system simulations as required.
  • Analysis & Reporting
    • Compile basic reports on stock variances, discrepancies, and system issues.
    • Flag trends or repeat issues to management.
    • Provide clear, factual feedback to support operational improvements.
Requirements
  • Hospitality, food retail, or FMCG experience
  • Exposure to SAP, JD Edwards, or complex ERP environments
  • Experience working with newly implemented systems
  • Proven experience as a stock controller, inventory clerk, or systems administrator
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working with ERP or POS systems (Cin7 Core highly advantageous)
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced hospitality or retail environment
