A specialised Accounting and Advisory Firm requires a meticulous Document Controller to restore order to complex financial landscapes and support multi-year reconstructions and SARS remediation projects. The successful candidate will serve as the primary custodian of information, transforming high volumes of historical data into structured, audit-ready digital assets. This is a three-month fixed-term contract requiring a commitment of 6-8 hours per day, offering a professional environment for an individual who thrives on precision and technical organisation. R - R per month dependent on hours worked and previous relevant experience. Hybrid.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Architecture & Maintenance: Establish and maintain a standardised digital filing system that ensures all financial records are logically indexed and easily retrievable.
Information Structuring: Organise and categorise vast volumes of documentation across multiple financial years, applying strict naming conventions to maintain total consistency.
Data Integrity & Tracking: Maintain a document request register for each client to track outstanding information and flag any missing, duplicate, or inconsistent records.
Collaborative Project Support: Work alongside accountants and bookkeepers to provide necessary documentation for audit files and ensure all supporting records align with financial entries.
Quality & Compliance Oversight: Conduct regular audits of the filing system to ensure adherence to naming protocols and internal standards, while assisting in the preparation of document packs for SARS.
Requirements- Education: Matric is essential.
Experience: 1-3 years of dedicated experience in an administrative or document control role.
Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to handle large volumes of data with exceptional attention to detail.
Attributes: A highly methodical and structured approach to work, with the persistence required to follow up on outstanding information.
Preferred QualificationsA relevant diploma or certificate in administration or records management.
Prior experience working within an accounting or professional services environment.
