Are you a graduate or have relevant HRIS/HR experience with a strong attention to detail, comfortable working with data in Excel or similar tools and have good organisational and time management skills? We have an exciting 1 year opportunity for an HRIS and Data Intern. This role sits within the HRIS and Data team which is responsible for the ownership, integrity, and optimisation of all people systems and people data. The team ensures HR technology is stable, secure, and fit for purpose, enabling accurate workforce data, reliable reporting, and automation across People Services and the wider organisation.

What you will be doing:- HR Systems Support
- Support the HRIS & Data Manager with basic system administration tasks.
- Assist with user access requests and access reviews under supervision.
- Support system testing for enhancements, fixes, or releases.
- Help maintain system documentation and process guides.
- Data Quality & Validation
- Run basic data checks and validations in the HR system.
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or incorrect data and flag for correction.
- Support regular data accuracy reviews and audits.
- Maintain logs of data issues and resolutions.
- Reporting & Analytics Support
- Support the production of regular people reports (e.g., headcount, starters/leavers).
- Assist with updating dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Help validate data used in reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support ad hoc data requests from HR and People Services teams.
- Cross Functional Support
- Assist with data requests for Payroll, Finance, and HR teams.
- Support reconciliation of HR and payroll data where required.
- Learn how people data is used to support business decision making.
- Learning & Development
- Build understanding of HR systems, people data, and reporting.
- Develop skills in data accuracy, documentation, and analysis.
- Participate in training, shadowing, and development activities.
- Interest in HR systems, data, analytics, or business intelligence.
- Essential:
- Graduate (ideally in HR, IT or a numerate degree) or relevant HR/HRIS experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working with data in Excel or similar tools.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Desirable:
- Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality principles.
- You must have the right to work in South Africa.
