YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE

We are looking for a GC / MSMS Analyst in Unit D45, Olive Grove Industrial estate, Old Paardevlei rd, Somerset West, Western Cape ZAF.

  • Fulfil a key role with regards to understanding and trouble shooting of techniques used in the laboratory.
  • GC/MS and GC/MSMS analysis of samples using techniques adequately trained in.
  • Preparing solutions and standards for analyses of samples.
  • Chemically extracting samples from raw material that require analysis.
  • Ensure that results are reported in good time to meet turnaround times.
  • Develop and implement new methods to meet customer's requirements.
  • Perform method validation analysis on GC/MS and GC/MSMS.
  • Ensure that instrument maintenance procedures are maintained.
  • Writing of certain work instructions.
  • Operate according to ISO17025:2005 and other relevant guidelines and maintain these systems.
  • Executing and maintaining good housekeeping (GHK) procedures and health & safety systems.
  • In collaboration with the quality manager of the company and the laboratory manager ensure that all results have audit trails (hard copies and electronic records) and that the service agreement to the customer is fulfilled.
  • Assist in the management of the certified reference standards inventory.
  • Maintaining stock control procedures.
  • Conducting literature searches and gathering information on new methods etc. when required.
  • When required, assist with reception of samples.
  • When required, assist with sample preparation.
YOUR PROFILE
  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry.
  • A postgraduate qualification (B.Sc Hons or B. Tech) would be advantageous
  • An analyst with experience in the technique of GC/MSMS.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a laboratory.
  • The position would suit a hard-working, vibrant and enthusiastic individual
  • Knowledge of ISO17025 will be beneficial
  • LC experience would be advantageous
