Economic Development (ED) Compliance Officer/Manager Head Office

We are seeking a suitably qualified Economic Development (ED) Compliance Officer/Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating project-level ED compliance obligations, maintaining structured audit ready documentation, supporting operational teams with ED implementation and ensuring accurate reporting in accordance with contractual and client requirements.

ED Compliance and Reporting
  • Interpret and implement project specific ED obligations in accordance with contractual, client and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain structured ED compliance systems, registers, tracking tools and audit ready evidence files.
  • Collect, verify and maintain accurate documentation relating to employment, procurement, training, local participation and community commitments.
  • Compile and submit accurate monthly and quarterly ED reports for management, clients and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor ED performance against contractual targets and identify compliance risk, reporting gaps or shortfalls proactively.
  • Support internal and external audits, compliance reviews and reporting verification processes.
Operational and Stakeholder Support
  • Support Contracts Managers, Project Managers, HR, Procurement teams, CLOs and operational teams with ED implementation and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance to site teams, subcontractors and SMMEs on ED documentation and reporting standards.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with community stakeholders, SMMEs and external partners.
  • Conduct site visits and support stakeholder engagement activities where required.
Administration and Team Coordination
  • Ensure accurate filing, document control and maintenance of project ED records in line with company procedures.
  • Allocate work and coordinate work within the ED support function where applicable.
  • Monitor documentation accuracy and reporting standards.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior administrative or ED support staff.
Minimum Requirements: Education
  • National Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Commerce, Public Administration, Human Resources, Compliance Management or a related field.
  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing or BCom in Internal Auditing.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Experience
  • 3-7 years' experience in ED, compliance administration, reporting or project support environments.
  • Experience maintaining audit ready compliance documentation and evidence files.
  • Experience compiling structured monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects, sites or departments simultaneously.
