About the role:
We are looking for a mid-level Business Development Specialist with a strong hunting mentality and a passion for identifying and closing new business opportunities.
This role is focused primarily on outbound sales and new merchant acquisition. You will be responsible for building a strong sales pipeline, engaging prospective merchants, and driving new revenue opportunities across multiple industries including e-commerce, travel, retail, hospitality, and other high-growth sectors.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in B2B sales, fintech, payments, SaaS, or related industries and thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Your mission
- Drive new merchant acquisition through proactive outbound sales activities.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and lead generation.
- Identify and engage potential merchants through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, partnerships, and events.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to closing and onboarding.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of PayGenius products and payment solutions.
- Identify new market opportunities and emerging industry trends.
- Build strategic relationships with prospects and partners.
- Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline reporting within CRM systems.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Provide market feedback and customer insights to support product and commercial strategy.
Your profile
- 2-3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, fintech, payments, SaaS, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in hunting, prospecting, and closing new business opportunities.
- Strong ability to generate leads and build a pipeline independently.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with outbound sales and cold outreach activities.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Goal-oriented with a strong drive to exceed targets.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Proficiency in English.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience within payments, acquiring, fintech, or merchant services.
- Existing networks within the Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, and e-commerce sectors.
- Experience with digital collaboration tools (Slack, Google Meet, AI tools).
- CRM experience (Zoho, HubSpot, or similar).
