ROLE SUMMARY The Receptionist is responsible for answering phones, receiving and directing visitors, booking meeting rooms and assist with ad-hoc administrative functions as required.Job Summary: The Akeso Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff at Netcare Akeso facilities. This role ensures a welcoming and efficient front desk operation, providing essential administrative support to the Akeso team. Job Responsibilities: Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Answer and direct incoming calls promptly and accurately, taking messages when necessary. Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and registrations, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required. Process payments, issue receipts, and manage petty cash if applicable. Handle inquiries and provide information regarding services, facilities, and general hospital procedures. Maintain the reception area in a tidy and organized manner. Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry. Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth patient flow and communication. Adhere to all Netcare Akeso policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality and data protection. Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, escalating to appropriate personnel when necessary. Job Qualifications: Matric/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer service orientation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., telephone system, printer, scanner). Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional demeanor and appearance. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
