Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for collection and processing of production data for Rakwadu Fruit and the total administration of stock management for the farm. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and reporting on the harvesting activities and the avocado/Mango picking incentives. All of this to ensure that Management are presented with accurate, reliable, and timeous reports upon which decisions can be based and to ensure that all agricultural standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile Avocado/Mango Picking slips with the Intake Packhouse Report and the Avocado/Mango Packhouse Packout Report (daily in season).
  • Report Fruit Quality Defect averages from Key Phase.
  • Update Avocado/Mango Weekly Picking Plan.
  • Update Avocado/Mango Seasonal Picking Plan.
  • Update Avocado/Mango Estimate and Harvesting Model.
  • Reconcile picking scale data with Packhouse intake data and determine if any picking incentives should be forfeited.
  • Ensure picking injury data is distributed from the packhouse to the operations.
  • General management of the Donkerhoek scale system (used for Avocado/Mango harvesting).
  • Update Donkerhoek Scales with picker information and block information.
  • Set up picking tags.
  • Manage bulk SMS system.
  • Assist Picking Supervisors if they have problems with phones, scales and tags.
  • Capture scale data for Avo Picking Incentives.
  • Distribute Daily Incentive Data to Farm Managers.
  • Consolidate the incentives per week for monthly pay and submit monthly incentives to Payroll.
  • Verify that all Purchase Orders/Transfers and Item Journals are received and posted on D365
  • Capture Diesel Usage from Farms and monitor monthly kilometer/hour and fuel use inputs.
  • Prepare counting journals.
  • Send counting journals to farms for physical stock count.
  • Capture stock counts.
  • Verify any discrepancies and if necessary, recount variances.
  • Manage the In-Field Warehouse stock on hand and perform reasonability checks.
  • Capture and import all crops' Fertilizer & Chemical Instructions.
  • Verify and post Work Order (Instructions) Journals.
  • Capture and import Low-Flow Instructions.
  • Assist all Managers and clerks with other duties as required.
  • Assist Operations and General Managers with reports as requested.
  • Create Purchase Requestions and Purchase Agreements.
Education:
  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Business, Data Analytics and/or financial administration
Experience & Knowledge:
  • 1 - 2 Years' experience in finance/data management or admin, preferably in an agricultural environment OR
  • Recent graduate with strong Excel skills
  • Advanced Excel experience preferred
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams and D365
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and own reliable transport to drive onto the farms.
  • Understanding of the Farming Accreditations administrative and reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically D365 (would be advantageous).
  • Advanced knowledge in Data Analysis, numerical skills and computer skills.
  • Must be able to Read, Write, Speak and understand English. Knowledge of Northern Sotho or one of the local languages would be preferred.
