Job Description

Our client is a highly successful water treatment company offering water treatment to a varied client base throughout the UK. They are presently seeking the services of a versatile and committed Water Treatment Engineer based in East London. The successful candidate will have hands on experience working of delivering a wide range of water treatment duties to a varied site bases and will ideally have experience working with cooling towers, steam boilers and closed systems. Previous experience in remedial plumbing will also be advantageous. Consideration will be given to applications from Ilford, Romford, Dagenham and the surrounding areas.

Experience
  • The applicant must come from a good chemical, technical and water hygiene/water treatment background.
  • Will have vast and varied experience working within this role and within the water treatment/water hygiene industry.
  • Must have valid and varied experience on cooling towers, water softeners, sampling, dosing, test kits, commissioning and chlorine dioxide systems.
  • Be fully conversant with the water treatment industry and legislation.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have good client -facing and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Chemical Analysis on Cooling Towers and Closed, Cooling, Commissioning and Chlorine Systems.
  • Working on prestigious sites/buildings - on-site analysis and maintenance and will include the following:
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems, boilers and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling.
  • Under-taking in-depth analysis of water systems including closed systems.
  • Interpretation of results.
  • Commissioning water systems.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on all dosing equipment as and when required.
  • Completing worksheets for work carried out appropriately.
  • Building and maintaining a good working rapport with clients.

  • In general, the successful post-holder will be an all-rounder, flexible, have good work ethic and have the ability to carry out the work effectively and within time scale.
  • Must be prepared to travel to areas designated by the client.
  • Must be prepared to work within confined space and heights.
