An opportunity exists for an honest, dedicated, hardworking, enthusiastic, results driven Training Superintendent who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing training and development programs within the chrome mining and processing plant.

The role ensures that employees are adequately trained to perform their duties safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all mining legislation, safety standards, and company policies. The Training Superintendent also supports skills development initiatives to improve workforce competency and operational performance.

Duties and responsibilities Training & Planning
  • Develop and implement the annual training plan in line with operational requirements.
  • Identify training needs as per operational requirements.
  • Align training initiatives with legal, safety, and compliance standards within the mining industry.
Compliance and Legal Requirements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant mining legislation, safety regulations, and industry training standards.
  • Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and competency documentation.
  • Ensure all employees receive mandatory training related to health, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Prepare training documentation and records for internal and external audits.
Training Program Implementation
  • Coordinate and deliver internal training programs, workshops, and induction training for new employees.
  • Facilitate technical training related to mining operations, plant equipment, safety procedures, and production processes.
  • Coordinate external training providers where specialized training is required.
  • Ensure employees are competent to operate machinery and equipment.
Safety Training
  • Ensure comprehensive safety training is provided to all employees and contractors.
  • Coordinate safety induction programs for new employees and visitors.
Budget and Resource Management
  • Manage the training budget and ensure cost-effective training delivery.
  • Source appropriate training materials, equipment, and external training providers.
  • Monitor and report on training expenditure.
Reporting and Administration
  • Compile and present training reports to management.
  • Maintain training schedules and ensure attendance of employees at required training sessions.
  • Ensure proper filing and administration of all training records.
Qualifications requirements
  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Training & Development, Education, or a related field.
Experience and skills requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in training and development, preferably within the mining or heavy industry environment.
  • Experience in managing workplace training.
  • Knowledge of mining industry training requirements and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with plant operations and mining processes.
