Job Description

To design, develop, and quality assure Occupationally Directed Education, Training and Development Practices (ODETDP)-aligned learning materials in accordance with Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) requirements. The role ensures that all learning programmes, curricula, and assessment tools meet accreditation standards and support effective learner outcomes.

Curriculum & Learning Material Development
  • Develop QCTO-aligned occupational qualifications, part qualifications, and skills programmes.
  • Design
    • Learner guides
    • Facilitator guides
    • Assessment guides
    • Workplace modules
  • Align all materials to:
    • Occupational profiles
    • Curriculum documents
    • Knowledge, Practical Skills, and Work Experience modules
Assessment Design & Alignment
  • Develop formative and summative assessments aligned to QCTO standards.
  • Create:
    • Assessment instruments
    • Marking guides
    • Moderation tools
  • Ensure alignment with Assessment Quality Partner (AQP) requirements.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure all materials meet QCTO and South African Qualifications Authority requirements.
  • Prepare documentation for
    • Accreditation submissions
    • Programme approval
  • Conduct internal quality reviews and gap analyses.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with
    • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
    • Industry partners
    • SETAs and AQPs
  • Facilitate workshops for curriculum design and validation.
Learning Design & Methodology
  • Incorporate:
    • Outcomes-Based Education principles
    • Adult learning methodologies
Project Management
  • Manage development timelines and deliverables.
  • Track progress of multiple qualifications/materials simultaneously.
  • Ensure version control and document management.
