Red Ember is seeking a Temporary Payroll Support Officer (CRS Sage 300 Transition) on behalf of our client to provide one month of assistance, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
This role involves supporting the client's parallel payroll run during the transition from CRS to Sage 300 People. The position is one-month temporary and clerical in nature, but requires hands on experience with payroll systems. The successful candidate will assist with data import, validation, balancing, and reconciliation, ensuring that payroll processes are accurate and completed on time. This role is ideal for an experienced payroll administrator or wage administrator who is Sage 300 proficient and has prior experience with CRS.
Responsibilities- Assist with the parallel payroll run from CRS to Sage 300 People.
- Capture, import, and validate payroll data in Sage 300.
- Perform payroll balancing and reconciliation between CRS and Sage 300 outputs.
- Investigate and resolve payroll variances and discrepancies.
- Validate payroll reports, journals, and system outputs prior to finalisation.
- Assist with payroll journal preparation and verification.
- Support the payroll team in ensuring accuracy and timeliness during the transition.
- Document issues identified during the parallel run and assist with corrective actions.
- Provide clerical and administrative payroll support as required.
- Collaborate closely with payroll, HR, and system stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
- Matric / Grade 12.
- 2-5 years experience in payroll administration or payroll system support.
- Proven experience with CRS Payroll and Sage 300 People.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory requirements, and parallel payroll runs.
- Ability to perform balancing, reconciliation, and variance analysis accurately.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and high attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
