Job Description: The mission is to facilitate and leverage technology scouting by gathering and evaluating information in the field of science and technology against either a pull from defined scouting needs or providing a push from external opportunities Mission: Explore technology trends across geographies to support Airbus future challenges while detecting the right start-ups, Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SMEs), research centers and companies to partner with. Understand the essence of the needs of our company that could be addressed by the start-up/company with the objective of speeding up solution-making and generating a positive impact for Airbus. Anticipate trends that could disrupt the future of the aerospace industry and evaluate them to identify and incubate potential new businesses preparing to be accelerated. Support and guide the innovation/research internal and external ecosystem in its development with the objective of increasing the impact (Value, Return on Investment (ROI), etc.) and visibility of Airbus as an innovative & sustainable company. Primary Responsibilities: Deploy Intelligence cycle to capture best-in-class emerging technologies that will disrupt Airbus future challenges: Digest extensive amounts of information coming from multiple flows, sources, networks, platforms, and to assess whether they are academic/technical, economics, business, finance, related etc. Consolidate dedicated technology reports, synthesis, analysis or presentations, to be shared and marketed internally Implement, activate and follow monitoring tools to be permanently and timely up-to-date with all relevant emerging technology wherever the source Develop appropriate push/pull methodology and ways of working to balance the activity between the capture of internal customers needs and the push of selected emerging technologies Extend Intelligence methodology to populate start-up & company portfolio, to be regularly shared and align with start-up ecosystems key players (Airbus ventures as an example) Scout for start-up solutions based on specifications formulated by internal challenge owner, be able to compare the solutions from a technical (features) point of view and to assess the start-up robustness based on dedicated criteria (patents, founders, funding, etc.). Comply with the information flow process to ensure visibility of scouting deliverables, but also to capture needs and feed-back. Ensure transverse coordination within and across organization and divisions Secondary Responsibilities: Comply with Airbus management policies Ensure updated knowledge of the company, products, services, operations Maintain an updated knowledge of Airbus business and technology priorities Maintain an updated knowledge of Airbus Research & Technology (R&T) and Innovation ecosystem Adhere to mandatory governance including annual training Any other task as required Output: Develop and prepare Technology report as determined by Central function Internal / external customer satisfaction survey including the presentation of results Regular reporting as per requested format at both operating and functional level Personal & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop trusting and open relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners Ability to work via influence, rather than authority Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a VUCA environment Cultural sensitivity to operate successfully in fast-paced global environment Ability to work in remote / matrix teams, and successfully navigate in matrix organisations. Professional skills Bachelor or Masters Degree in Aerospace or Engineering with experience in aerospace, including at least 3-5 years of experience in the Scouting domain Knowledge in platform and sources to strengthen open source intelligence and research Possess relevant technical knowledge (AI, battery tech, connectivity, autonomy, ) Passion for new technologies and technical acumen to evaluate their relevance Good verbal and written communication skills in English Awareness of intellectual property (IP) and legal issues when dealing with partners This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.
