SQL Applications Support Manager
Job Description
Datacentrix is looking for an Applications Manager who will be responsible for leading the Applications Support Team, ensuring the stability, performance and continuous improvement of business applications. The role requires strong technical expertise in SQL and Ivanti, combined with leadership capabilities to manage a team responsible for application support, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
Minimum Requirements Education and Experience- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years experience in application support or systems support.
- 3+ years experience managing or leading a technical support team.
- Strong experience working in enterprise application environments.
- Strong SQL Server knowledge (query writing, performance tuning, troubleshooting).
- Experience supporting enterprise applications.
- Hands on experience with Ivanti Service Management / Ivanti ITSM / Endpoint Manager.
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
- Experience with system integrations and application troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of database structures, APIs, and system interfaces.
- Manage and oversee day to day operations of the Applications Support team.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical business applications.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Coordinate incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management.
- Provide advanced SQL support including troubleshooting queries, stored procedures, and database performance issues.
- Analyse and optimise SQL queries and database structures to improve application performance.Support database maintenance activities including backups, patching, and monitoring.
- Manage and support Ivanti systems including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain Ivanti workflows, service management processes, and automation where applicable.
- Ensure optimal performance and reliability of Ivanti solutions.
- Lead, mentor and develop the Applications Support team.
- Allocate tasks and manage workload across the team.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes such as incident, problem, and change management.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and skills development for team members.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors and business stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on system performance, incidents and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in project delivery where application support or enhancements are required.
