Job Description
The Junior Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Conduct Assessments and provide individual and group therapy for students with speech, Language and communication difficulties
- Design, implement and review individualised intervention programmes appropriate to young students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, caregivers and the multidisciplinary team to support and reinforce student communication goals
- Monitor, evaluate and report on student progress
- Maintain accurate, professional documentation in line with high professional standards
- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Current registration with the HPCSA
- Experience working with children in the Foundation Phase
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development
- A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
- A sexual offender's clearance certificate and a valid First Aid Certificate
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic school environment
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with students and their families
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
