Job Description

Speech and Language Therapist

The Junior Preparatory invites applications for the abovementioned position.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct Assessments and provide individual and group therapy for students with speech, Language and communication difficulties
  • Design, implement and review individualised intervention programmes appropriate to young students
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, caregivers and the multidisciplinary team to support and reinforce student communication goals
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on student progress
  • Maintain accurate, professional documentation in line with high professional standards
Job Requirements
  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Current registration with the HPCSA
  • Experience working with children in the Foundation Phase
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development
  • A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
  • A sexual offender's clearance certificate and a valid First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic school environment
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with students and their families
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
