Carry1st helps game studios unlock growth across Africa and the Middle-East by making it easy for players to buy and enjoy digital content using the payment methods they already trust. We've also built a proprietary payments and ecommerce experience that allows customers to pay for digital content across 19 different countries, even when they don't have a credit card.

Social Media Manager

You will own and grow the Call of Duty Mobile Africa social media presence, working in partnership with Activision to build one of the most exciting gaming communities on the continent. In this role you will own the growth strategy for the CODM Africa social media channels, including content calendar planning aligned with in game live ops and regional events like Africa Cup. Additionally, you'll be responsible for managing a cross-country team of video editors and graphic designers, submitting briefs, reviewing content, and ensuring on brand delivery. To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong eye for content and know what it takes to go viral in the African market.

You will
  • Identify viral trends across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and X/Twitter, and localize them for the African gaming community
  • Manage and grow the CODM Africa community by engaging with followers and fostering an active, loyal fanbase
  • Liaise with Activision stakeholders, managing approvals and timelines in a fast paced publishing environment
  • Track and report on channel analytics and growth metrics, using insights to refine the content strategy
  • Manage the content production budget, tracking spend across creators, editors, and tools to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Use social media management and task management tools to plan, schedule, and coordinate content workflows across the team
  • Represent Carry1st and Activision at gaming events across Africa and feed insights back into the content strategy
What makes you a great candidate?
  • 3-5 years of social media management experience, ideally within gaming or entertainment
  • You are a gamer, ideally with a passion for first person shooters or CODM, and you deeply understand gaming culture
  • Highly organized and collaborative, comfortable managing stakeholders and creatives across countries under tight deadlines
  • Analytically minded and comfortable using data to measure performance and report on follower growth
  • Basic understanding of how paid media and boosts can amplify organic social content
  • Bonus: You can edit short form video using After Effects or Premiere Pro, create assets in Canva, Illustrator, or Photoshop, and are comfortable with AI tools
