You'll help plan, set out and deliver day-to-day construction activities on site, keeping quality, safety and programme tightly aligned as we deliver key infrastructure for these fast-growing communities. Mō te tūranga About the role As a Site Engineer, you'll be out on our Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes projects, not stuck behind a desk. You'll support planning and set-out, track progress against programme, and help solve the real-world problems that come with live civil construction sites.You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with supervisors, field crew and subcontractors, making sure designs are built right first time. Your work will directly support safer roads, stronger communities and Good Work across the region. Ngā kawenga matua Key responsibilities Coordinate day-to-day site engineering tasks, including set-out, measurements and quality checks. Support the Site Manager and Supervisors to plan work, sequence activities and keep to programme. Prepare and maintain site documentation, including QA records, as-builts, daily diaries and reports. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team to resolve onsite issues quickly and safely. Monitor construction progress, identify risks or clashes early, and help drive practical solutions. Champion a strong health, safety and environmental culture on site, leading by example. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga We're looking for someone with Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Experience in a site-based engineering role within civil infrastructure, roading, structures or similar (internships and early-career experience welcome). Confidence using surveying / set-out equipment and reading drawings and specifications. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities across multi-site projects. A collaborative, team-focused approach - you're happy to roll up your sleeves and spend plenty of time out on site. Proactive, safety-focused mindset and able to carry out the inherent requirements of the role, including hands-on, outdoor work in varying Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes weather conditions. Clear communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with field crew, subcontractors and clients.
