Job Description

Main Purpose of the Position

To provide effective supervision and leadership to team members by ensuring consistent compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards. The role supports product quality, customer service, people management, and cost control, and acts as relief for the Assistant Restaurant Manager (ARM) when required.

Operational Excellence
  • Ensure consistent compliance with CHAMPS standards (Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product, Speed of Service).
  • Manage shifts in line with company policies to optimise sales, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Allocate shift responsibilities and monitor team performance throughout the shift.
  • Oversee routine maintenance and elevate issues to the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and security procedures for staff, customers, and company assets.
People Management
  • Support the RGM and ARM in training, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Promote and role model company values, behaviours, and ways of working.
  • Drive team engagement, recognition, and performance through CHAMPS and related initiatives.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation and internal people policies.
Customer Service
  • Foster a strong customer centric culture through coaching and on the job feedback.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure appropriate follow up.
  • Monitor product quality, availability, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
Sales & Profitability
  • Support the RGM and ARM in communicating sales targets and profitability goals.
  • Monitor and control labour, food, and operational costs during shifts.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and compliance with banking procedures.
  • Promote upselling and local store marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with forecasting, scheduling, and staffing to meet business needs.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound numeracy skills with basic financial understanding.
  • Intermediate MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Teams).
  • Guest focused leadership and coaching ability.
  • Strong planning, delegation, accountability, and teamwork skills.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience (fast food industry preferred).
  • Valid South African ID and clear credit and criminal record.
  • Reliable, contactable, and able to work flexible hours.
