We are seeking a reliable and experienced Senior Workshop Assistant to support manufacturing, installations, maintenance, deliveries, and quality control operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that products are manufactured, installed, and maintained according to company standards and customer requirements.
This is a hands on role requiring strong technical ability, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. The successful candidate will also assist with on site work, deliveries, stock control, and mentoring junior workshop staff.
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing, Installations & Maintenance- Manufacture and maintain products according to specifications.
- Assist with installations, servicing, and maintenance work on customer sites.
- Identify and report potential production or operational issues proactively.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high-quality standard.
- Carry out ad hoc workshop and site duties when required.
- Provide on the job training and support to junior workshop staff.
- Assist team members with technical guidance and hands on support.
- Promote productivity, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the workshop environment.
- Train staff on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Drive company vehicles for deliveries, collections, and transportation of products, tools, and materials.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and signed for by customers.
- Maintain company vehicles in a clean, road worthy condition.
- Report vehicle maintenance or repair requirements to management.
- Implement and maintain strict quality control standards.
- Ensure all products and installations meet required specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work and installations.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship at all times.
- Ensure tools and machinery are maintained and in good working condition.
- Report damaged, lost, or faulty equipment immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements and PPE regulations.
- Always consider the safety of yourself and fellow team members.
- Deliver professional and friendly customer service at all times.
- Represent the company positively when interacting with clients.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality workmanship and professionalism.
- Assist customers with service related information where required.
- First Aid Level 1 advantageous.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Junior Workshop Assistant;
OR
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a technical, electrical, industrial, or workshop environment.
- Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to understand and follow technical instructions.
- Good problem solving and fault finding ability.
- Ability to work at heights where required.
