Senior Quantity Surveyor: Lead Feasibility to Final Account

Our client is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) to be responsible for the span of the entire lifecycle of a project, from feasibility through to final account. 1x Cape Town office and 1x Johannesburg Office.

• Registered PrQS
• BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying (from a SACQSP-accredited university or university of technology)
• Alternatively, an Honours or Master's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics may be advantageous

• Minimum: 7-10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in quantity surveying, of which at least 3-5 years should be at a senior or lead level
• Government/public sector projects experience

• Preparing feasibility studies and preliminary cost estimates
• Developing detailed cost plans and budgets
• Drafting and analyzing Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
• Managing the tendering process, including tender documentation and evaluation
• Advising on procurement strategies
• Cost control and management during construction
• Valuation of work done and issuing of payment certificates
• Contract administration (e.g., dealing with variations, extensions of time, claims)
• Managing final accounts and close-out processes
• Managing project budgets ranging from mid-size to large-scale developments
• Advising clients on cost-saving and value engineering measures
• Preparing and presenting financial reports to stakeholders
