Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job

To direct and manage the production operation so that customer needs are met creatively, effectively and efficiently.
To drive business efficiency and improvement through playing a leading role on the operational management team.
To realise the potential within the production operation.
To drive improvement of operating margins continuously.
To ensure that the organisation meets health and safety, quality and environmental legal requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

To lead and direct production operations so that customer requirements are met reliably and consistently.
To introduce world class manufacturing standards to improve competitiveness and to measure improvement against key performance indicators.
To increase profit margins through the management of quality standards, health and safety requirements and environmental protection in production.
In conjunction with Finance, assist in the construction of realistic and achievable budgets and forecasts. Follow this up with ongoing analysis, correction and amendments, as appropriate, in order to achieve forecasted profits and the control of costs.
Development and motivation of own staff, ensuring they have sufficient skills now and have identified additional skills training planned, in order to increase flexibility.
