The Faircape Group owns and manages six luxury lifestyle villages and healthcare facilities with state of the art and technologically advanced Healthcare Centres at each village.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Assistant to join our vibrant team at Tokai Estate within the southern suburbs.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our buildings and shared spaces are kept in excellent condition - helping to maintain the comfort, safety, and beauty of our village.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Complete all maintenance as per the rosters and schedules that govern the maintenance of the village and healthcare
  • Provide support to the village and healthcare manager with regards to on site maintenance contractors
  • Maintain all roofs, gutters, and building exteriors ensuring they are in good repair
  • Respond promptly to resident requests and carry out minor general repair work throughout the village.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and securely stored also ensuring stores are well organised.
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations at all times
  • Conduct regular property and equipment maintenance to ensure optimal operation
  • Ensure that maintenance is always up to date for all plant and equipment in terms of the maintenance schedules

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 advantageous
  • Trade related qualification or certification (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, or General Maintenance) advantageous; Basic health and safety knowledge (OHS Act) advantageous

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Relevant maintenance experience, basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical knowledge
  • Code 10 licence and a valid PDP

  • Well groomed and professionally presented at all times
  • Patient and respectful with the ability to maintain positive interactions with elderly residents

  • Own reliable transport

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 06h30 until 17h00 according to the roster, approximately 16 shifts per month. You will be required to work every alternate weekend and will receive 2 days off in the following week. Please note, you will be required to be on standby after hours in the event of emergencies.
