Senior IT support Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and solutions-driven Senior IT Support Technician to lead our technical support function. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling complex technical issues, overseeing junior support staff, and assisting in the management and improvement of the company's IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced technical support for complex hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage and resolve escalated support tickets efficiently and within SLA.
- Perform system administration tasks including user management, permissions, server support, and software deployments.
- Troubleshoot and maintain network infrastructure, including connectivity, configuration, and performance optimisation.
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of IT infrastructure projects.
- Mentor and guide junior IT technicians.
- Ensure accurate documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Recommend improvements to enhance system performance, security, and reliability.
- Ensure IT security best practices are followed.
- Valid Code 8 driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in IT support, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switches, routers).
- Experience with server administration and backup solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft certifications, or similar will be advantageous.
