Senior Energy Design Engineer

We are recruiting a Senior Energy Design Consultant to join our multi disciplinary Energy team in Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa. The role focuses on project delivery and client facing responsibilities, including design, feasibility and project management for photovoltaic, wind, battery storage, green hydrogen, energy transition and mini/micro grid projects with an emphasis on grid connections and large project contexts.

• Lead and manage technical advisory and owner's engineering services within the renewable energy sector.
• Prepare and deliver bids, proposals and technical reports for clients.
• Prepare and manage proposals such as due diligence, technical advisory services, owner's engineering, lender's technical advisor and other service offerings.
• Develop and mentor junior team members across South Africa offices.
• Participate in business development and client relationships.
• Provide financial acumen for energy projects and project finance.
• Support project planning, feasibility studies, concept design and preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation.

• B.Eng. or BSc. in Electrical Engineering with additional qualification in renewable energy preferred.
• Professional registration with ECSA.
• Recognisable experience in the energy sector, especially renewable energy and decarbonisation exposure.
• Project management experience delivering design services in renewable energy.
• Strong written and verbal communication, contractual and people skills.
• Knowledge of industrial processes and decarbonisation technologies advantageous.
