Komatsu South Africa is offering a 4-year apprenticeship programme for young individuals interested in building a career in the engineering and manufacturing industry. The programme provides structured technical training, practical workplace exposure, and theoretical learning through merSETA apprenticeship modules. Successful apprentices will gain valuable experience while working under skilled technical professionals.

4 Years

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / N3 qualification with Mathematics
• Be currently unemployed
• Passed the following subjects at NQF Level 4: Mathematics or Technical Mathematics (Mathematics Literacy will not be accepted)
• Physical Science or Technical Science
• N3 Electrical/Fitter Trade Theory and/or N3 Mechanotechnology

Successful candidates will:

• Observe and learn technical skills and engineering processes
• Work independently and within teams on technical tasks
• Complete prescribed merSETA apprenticeship modules
• Gain theoretical and practical engineering skills
• Learn workplace health and safety procedures
• Maintain workshop equipment
• Keep an apprenticeship logbook
