Retail Establishment Survey (RES) Census Taker - Contractual (12 months)
Job Description
To conduct Retail Establishment Surveys (RES), which form the foundation of Retail Measurement Services (RMS) operations, by identifying, auditing, and recording detailed information on retail outlets within assigned geographic areas.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct surveys within assigned Primary Sampling Units (PSUs) using provided digital maps.
- Accurately interpret and follow area maps prepared by the cartography team.
- Cover the entire PSU to identify all commercial building units and participating retail outlets within the defined boundaries.
- Observe, interview, and record detailed retail outlet information, including: Store address, Type of business, Categories handled, Store profile (e.g., facilities, square footage, POS information, etc.)
- Utilize pre-populated data from previous survey cycles loaded onto data collection devices.
- Ensure all data collected is complete, accurate, and recorded according to survey standards.
- Work efficiently within assigned areas to execute audits effectively.
- Area Management Responsibilities: Work within clearly defined and mapped geographic boundaries. Understand and identify surrounding streets and areas for proper orientation. Ensure full coverage of the assigned PSU.
- Ability to read and interpret digital maps.
- Strong orientation and navigation skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
- Good communication and interviewing skills.
- Ability to work independently in assigned areas.
- Basic proficiency in using digital data collection devices.
- Field-based role requiring travel within assigned geographic areas.
- Walking and visiting multiple retail outlets within designated boundaries.
