A well-established retail pharmacy group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join their clinical team. This role is ideal for a healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering accessible primary healthcare to the community.
Operating from a professional consulting room within the pharmacy, the successful candidate will provide essential medical services, patient counselling, and wellness support. This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site, requiring a candidate with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to clinical excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct primary healthcare consultations and provide professional medical advice to walk-in patients.
Administer immunisations, scheduled vaccinations, and various injections with precision and care.
Perform wound care management and minor clinical procedures as required.
Offer expert advice on over-the-counter (OTC) products and general health management.
Facilitate Women's Wellness examinations, including screenings and reproductive health consultations.
Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and internal protocols.
Collaborate closely with the pharmacist and dispensing team to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Ensure all clinical equipment and consulting rooms meet the required health and safety standards.
Requirements- Current and valid registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience specifically within a retail pharmacy or primary healthcare clinic environment.
- Extensive knowledge of primary healthcare protocols, immunisation schedules, and wound treatment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively counsel patients from diverse backgrounds.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload independently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- A qualification in Midwifery is highly advantageous to support the pharmacy's Women's Wellness initiatives.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
- Experience with pharmacy-specific management software or electronic patient record systems.
