At The President Hotel, the hotel front desk is more than just check-ins and check-outs, it's where first impressions are made, problems are solved, and memorable hotel stays begin. As we continue our journey toward luxury, we're looking for a Front Office Shift Leader (Senior Receptionist/Supervisor) who can confidently take charge of the hotel front desk, lead the team, and keep everything running like clockwork.
If you know your way around OPERA PMS like a second language, thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment, and enjoy leading a hotel reception team while still being hands-on with guests, this role is for you.
Minimum Requirements- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- Hospitality qualification or diploma (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 to 4 years' experience within a hotel front office
- Proven experience leading or supervising hotel reception shifts
- Strong, hands-on OPERA PMS experience (you must be confident and fast on the system)
- Strong computer literacy, including OPERA PMS and Microsoft Office
- Experience within a busy 4-star or 5-star hotel environment preferred
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Professional grooming and presentation
- CV must be fully updated prior to submission
- Take full ownership of the Hotel Front Office during your shift
- Lead and support the hotel reception team to keep operations smooth and efficient
- Manage hotel check-ins and check-outs seamlessly using OPERA PMS
- Keep hotel standards high, processes tight, and the team on track
- Be the go-to person when things need quick thinking and smart solutions
- Welcome hotel guests with confidence, warmth, and professionalism
- Handle VIP arrivals and special hotel guest requests with ease
- Step in and resolve hotel guest concerns before they become problems
- Stay visible on the floor, leading from the front, not behind a desk
- Run structured shift handovers and hotel team briefings
- Monitor hotel arrivals, departures, room status, and daily reports
- Ensure billing accuracy, cashier controls, and smooth shift closures
- Work closely with Housekeeping and other hotel departments to keep things flowing
- Help train, guide, and support hotel reception team members
- Keep the team motivated, focused, and accountable
- Step in where needed, no ego, just teamwork
- Follow hotel SOPs, financial controls, and reporting standards
- Keep admin accurate, organised, and up to date
- Support audits and operational checks when required
