Introduction

The purpose of the Quality team leader is to supervise the daily operations and functions in the Laboratory, Quality Control for Production of Carbonated Beverages, Packaging, and verification of incoming Raw Materials. To contribute to business success by leading and managing the quality activities associated with the Quality Control and Laboratory Management, training, coaching, and development of laboratory staff to ensure a dynamic and multi skilled department. To manage Twizza quality programmers by being involved in audits and ensuring compliance to applicable statutory, regulatory and customer requirements.

Manage Laboratory Activities and Staff
  • Improve, organise, research, upgrade, update, inspection, review and communicate. Ensure lab staff adherence to the requirements of ISO 17025.
Supervsion of QC in Finished Products, Preforms and Incoming Raw Materials
  • Quality control supervision ensures that staff in production facilities follow all regulations and maintain strict quality and safety standards. This includes monitoring production, resolving complaints, and correcting issues, equipment troubleshooting and writing monthly reports.
  • This means having procedure and process checks online during production and noting any deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Operational Quality checks: QC inspections of finished, raw materials and manufacturing of preforms, and COC/COA verification.
  • Extra QC check for shipment and generating COC for internal customers
  • Serving in cross-functional quality improvement teams
Staff Training and Development
  • Ensure that all staff are trained in their jobs and evaluate each person in the job he /she is doing and ensure that each person takes responsibility in his/her job function.
  • Design, implement, review and execute working SOPs in all Quality Areas.
  • Identifying quality problems for solution.
  • Serving as a leader of various types of quality teams.
  • Leading the quality activities in the company by demonstrating a personal commitment and encouraging other employees.
  • Serving on task forces to assist in developing elements of the Quality Strategy.
Health, Safety, Quality and FSSC 22000
  • Adherence to quality systems, GLPs and GMPs
  • GMP walkthroughs in the manufacturing departments to identify any compliance problems (e.g., mix ups, contamination, document control, calibration of equipment, non-conformances etc.)
  • Managing all safety, health, and environment issues in the laboratories.
  • Identifying potential risks/dangers and taking proactive steps to prevent them.
  • Ensuring that there is sufficient supply of safety equipment, PPE and that Safety Representative carries out specified duties accordingly.
  • Adhere to all Food Safety standards and report on all issues with regards to the Food Safety Management System to the Food Safety Team.
  • Ensuring that all Critical Control Points (CCP1 ) and Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRP1,2,3&4) are measured, monitoredand verified at predetermined frequencies as per the SOP.
Qualification & Experience Criteria Qualification
  • A Grade 12 certificate is non-negotiable.
  • Degree or Diploma in Food Science/Biotechnology/Microbiology or Analytical Chemistry.
