MAIN PURPOSE

Responsible to ensure that product quality is maintained or improved through controlled inspections. Determining if products are within the specifications for the final product.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Control

  • Conduct pre production, during and final product quality inspections.
  • Ensure that all corrective actions with regards to products have been implemented accordingly during final inspection.
  • Ensure that all products that need to be qualified by the quality department have the relevant testing equipment. This includes software and hardware.
  • Assist with the investigation of nonconformance reports with regards to product defects found by quality control, this includes internal and external providers.
  • Quarantine items which do not comply with specification. Ensuring that all interested parties are notified timeously.
  • Ensure Quality labs and areas adhere to general housekeeping rules.
Reporting
  • Conduct PCB inspections and testing using PCB test jigs.
  • Report to Quality Control Supervisor if any quality control test equipment is past calibration, verification, outdated.
  • Report to Quality Control Supervisor any equipment which requires repairs or maintenance, which could prevent any production or quality control delays.
  • Notify Quality Control Supervisor timeously of any items or products which may be delayed due being rejected or placed on hold.
Documentation Control
  • Ensure that all products that need to be qualified by the quality department have an approved ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) that also covers the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, approval by Product Specialist and Quality Supervisor.
  • Ensure that quality control batch certificates are submitted to the configuration department in a timeously manner, and quality control database has been updated timeously.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • National Qualification N6 Electronics
  • 5 years Quality control experience
  • Computer skills (MS Office package)
  • ISO 9001:2015 Standard requirements
  • Working Knowledge of measuring instruments
